More than 1,200 attendees from 35 states participated at the Western National Roundup Jan. 8-12, in Denver, Colo. The Conference, which celebrated its 100th year, is held annually in early January, coinciding with the National Western Stock Show. Due to the generous support of the Livestock Industry 4-H Trust Fund, South Dakota 4-H was able to send 26 youth who were top contestants in their respective contests at the state level for the opportunity to compete nationally.
Cortney Olinger, Aurora County 4-H member, competed in the Roundup’s Fashion Review Contest, earning this position for being selected the champion at the SD State Fair. She earned third overall in the Constructed Outfit category.
Cortney is the daughter of Clinton and Cristy Olinger and the granddaughter of Bernard and Irene Olinger and Roger and Vicki Linke.
