On Saturday, Dec. 7, the Woonsocket gym was buzzing with little future Lady Blackhawks all morning as they learned basic skills from Kaylie Robinson, a senior at Woonsocket High School who put on a basketball skills camp for her senior project. She had 64 who attended in two different groups, depending on their age, so she did have a little help from her mom, grandma, teammates Alexa and Lainey Goertz, Kali and Ellie Hofer, Addison Bartholow and Liz Boschee, and Coach Emily Henriksen.
The kindergarten through third grade girls started the day and were at the gym for about an hour and 15 minutes, while the older girls in grades four through six followed them with a two-hour session. Both groups went through skills stations to focus on certain basic skills to help them become better ball players and teammates.
