On Saturday, Sept. 14, the eighth-grade girls on the Blackhawks’ junior high volleyball team played in the James Valley Invitational in Huron. The teams were setup in two pools with four teams each, and the Lady Blackhawks made a clean sweep of their pool going 3-0 on the day. Their first opponent was DeSmet, followed by Huron’s eighth grade, and SCW won both those games in two sets. Their final opponent of the day was Wessington Springs, and they had to dig deep for a strong finish and came out on top winning two of three sets.
