Mike Clark, 70, Sioux Falls, passed away March 7, 2014. Mike had fought a fierce battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1600 South Marian Road, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 41st and Valley View Road, Sioux Falls.
Michael John Clark was born Aug. 10, 1943 to John Patrick and Mary Ann Clark. He graduated from Artesian High School in 1961. He attended Northern State College and graduated from Huron College in 1972 with a degree in business.
Mike was a successful banker for many years. In 1996, he purchased and operated Worthington Ford in Worthington, Minn., which he sold in 2005 and entered retirement. Within a short time, he realized he was not a retiring kind of guy and resumed his banking career with CorTrust Bank in Sioux Falls until his death.
Mike married Waneen Schafer on Jan. 8, 1966. To that marriage two sons were born, Richard and Timothy. Later, Mike and Waneen divorced. Mike married Lynn Nesseth on Jan. 23, 1990, a union that lasted the rest of his life.
Mike loved God, his family, friends, his work and golf. He was able to travel widely and relish life with his wife, his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn of Sioux Falls; sons, Richard (Emmie) of San Marcos, Calif. and Timothy (Kim) of Valley Center, Calif.; step-children, Matthew (Kortney), Andrew (Lindsey), Thomas (Tari) Nesseth of Jackson, Minn., Abigail Nesseth of Shanghai, China; seven grandchildren; one brother, Pat (Joyce) of Rapid City; one sister, Nancy Knutson (Bob) of Mankato, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Leo Nesseth; and one niece, Michelle Pittillo.
