The Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. with Vice-Chairman Ohlrogge presiding in the absence of Chairman Ebersdorfer. Other members present were: P. Larson, Blindauer and S. Larson. Also present was Auditor Larson. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as presented. Motion carried.
GAME, FISH & PARKS
Brian Pauly, Department of Game, Fish & Parks, presented an option for a walk-in hunting area on land owned by the county. The property is leased on a three year contract. When the contract expires we will revisit the option.
HIGHWAY
Lee Goergen, Highway Supervisor/Weed Supervisor, and Sheri Mentele, Secretary, met with the Board. Mentele gave a report on the new fuel system at the Highway Department. Mark Snedeker discussed leveling the spoils on Ditch 14 on his property. Goergen said it could be done in the afternoon.
LIQUOR LICENSING
Motion by S. Larson, seconded P. Larson, to approve the following liquor licenses:
John Doren – Retail (On-Sale) Liquor and Package (Off Sale) Liquor – DBA/Doren’s Bar.
Twin Lakes Resort, LLC– Retail (On-Sale) Liquor.
Motion carried.
DITCH 21
Gary Eddy met with the board to voice his concerns over the assessments on Ditch 21.
MITIGATION PLAN
Jason Coenen, Emergency Management Director, met with the board to discuss the mitigation plan. District III will work on the application. Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to work with District III on the plan and application. Motion carried.
DAVISON COUNTY PRISONER CARE
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Larson, to enter into agreement for prisoner care with Davison County for the year 2014 for $86.00 per day. Motion carried.
FINAL MEETING OF THE YEAR
Motion by Blindauer, seconded by P. Larson, to meet December 30 for the final meeting of the year to conduct end of the year business. Motion carried.
