Ursula “Gert” Delvaux, 100, of Huron, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
Her funeral service was Friday, April 4 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Visitation with family present was Thursday, April 3 at the Welter Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and Friday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial of her cremated remains at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Cavour will take place at a later date.

Ursual Gertrude Coughlin was born to William and Margaret (Daley) Coughlin on Dec. 6, 1913 in Yale. She graduated from Cavour High School in 1932. She then moved to Sioux Falls where she attended secretarial school.
On Sept. 12, 1933, she married Laurence Delvaux in Cavour. They lived on a farm southeast of Cavour until 1942, when they moved into Cavour. In 1956, they moved to Huron, returning to Cavour in 1966. Her husband died on Dec. 31, 1984. In 1957, she began work as a nurse’s aide on the maternity floor at Saint John’s Hospital in Huron, retiring from there in 1978. She moved to Huron in 2007. In June 2013, she became a resident of Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
Ursula was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society in Cavour and Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron.
She is survived by six children, Jim (Arlie) Delvaux of Sioux Falls, Larry (Connie) Delvaux of Yankton, Mary Margaret Whitcomb of Atwater, Minn., Virginia (Gary) Lobash of Coon Rapids, Minn., John (Rosemarie) Delvaux of Woonsocket, and Frank (Joyce) Delvaux of Brookings; 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Larry “Butch” Peterson of Wolsey; daughter-in-law, Mary Delvaux of Lincoln, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurence; four sisters; one brother; and three children, Paul Delvaux, JoAnn Peterson and Bill Delvaux.
