The annual Vacation Bible School Day Camp, sponsored by the Lutheran-Methodist Parish in Woonsocket, was held June 13-16 at the Community Center and at the Methodist Church basement.
Over 30 students in grades three through five participated in the Bible lessons, craft activities, games and outdoor adventures following the theme “Hooked on Jesus”, that were conducted by four camp counselors from Lutheran Outdoors.
A pre-school through second grade class was also taught by church members at the church. Confirmation students of the parish also participated as student helpers and assistants to the counselors.
The service project for the week included the collection of items for the food pantry, which were delivered to the Sanborn County Courthouse on Thursday. The students also sang the songs they had learned throughout the week for the residents at Prairie View Healthcare Community, Thursday afternoon.
The camp concluded with the presentation of a program for family and friends at the Methodist Church on Thursday evening.
