Tyler Johnson, a member of Troop 89 in Mitchell, was awarded the Eagle Scout rank, the highest rank for members of the Boy Scouts of America, at a ceremony on June 8 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mitchell.
His Eagle project consisted of collecting items for the Mitchell Area Safehouse valued at $1,334.50.
Tyler graduated from Sanborn Central High School this spring and is the son of Mark and Kelly Johnson of Letcher.
