Woonsocket City Council proceedings

December 7, 2015

The regular meeting of the Woonsocket City Council was called to order by Mayor Lindy Peterson at 7:20 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2015 with the following members present: Richard Reider, Jim Steichen, John Ames and Brandon Goergen. Richard Regynski and Don Schmidt were absent.
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Ames, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Reider, seconded by Steichen, to approve the November 9, 2015 minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Steichen, to approve the Special Meeting Minutes on November 30, 2015. Motion carried.
Motion by Reider, seconded by Goergen, to approve the Financial Statement.  Motion carried.
Motion by Steichen, seconded by Goergen, to approve the following bills:

Motion by Ames, seconded  by Reider, to hire Liquid Engineering to fix the new watertower. Motion carried.
Old Business
Council discussed the City Siren.
Council discussed Joel Rassel Building. Richard Jensen will talk to him.
Council discussed the carpet cleaning.
Council discussed a pickup for the City.
Council discussed the Audit.
Council discussed the Applications for Employment. Motion by Ames, seconded by Goergen to hire Andy Larson at $12.00 per hour starting December 9th. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Motion by Ames, seconded by Steichen, to renew the following Liquor Licenses for the year 2016. Motion carried.
Skeeters Bar & Grill LLC, Package Liquor
Schmiedt Enterprises Inc., Package Liquor
Express Stop LLC, Package Liquor
Skeeters Bar & Grill LLC, Retail On-Sale Liquor
Dakota Roadhouse & Rowdy Rooster Lounge, Retail On-Sale Liquor
Motion by Ames, seconded by Goergen to enter into Executive Session to discuss employees at 8:05 p.m. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Reider to exit Executive Session and re-enter regular meeting at 9:01 p.m.
Motion by Steichen, seconded by Goergen to terminate employment of Steve Tiede as of December 31, 2015. Motion carried. We would like to thank Steve for his commitment to our community for several years.
With no further business to discuss, motion by Steichen, seconded by Reider, to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 9:06 p.m.
