The Town of Artesian Council met on September 6, 2017, in regular session at the Artesian Community Center. Council Member K. Effling called the meeting to order with Council Member C. Danek, Council Member S. Richard, and Finance Officer G. Effling present. Also present was: T. Fridley.
The minutes of the August 2, 2017, meeting were read; motion to approve by Richard, second by Danek, motion carried. Finance Officer Reports were read; motion to approve by Danek, second by Richard, motion carried. The following vouchers were presented for the month:

Old Business: Sewer/Lagoon – discussion was held on the recent smoking of the sewer lines – some properties need attention and will be notified.
New Business: The Council joined the SD Association of Rural Water Systems to aid in future rural water/drainage procedures. The lift station will be cleaned out/maintained in the Spring 2018. Discussion was held on cleaning out the sewer lines from the lift station to the city lagoon. Discussion was held on a date to paint the bath house at the campground and winterizing at the campground and ball/city park. Discussion was held on city insurance; motion by Danek to accept the insurance quote from OneBeacon Govt. Risk, seconded by Richard, motion carried. Discussion was held on the mosquito grant.
2018 CITY OF ARTESIAN BUDGET – Second Reading – Ordinance #2018-01. Richard made the motion to approve the 2018 City of Artesian Budget, seconded by Danek. Motion carried.
There being no further business brought before the council, meeting adjourned. The next regular meeting is scheduled for October 4, 2017, at the Community Center at 7:30 p.m.
