Woonsocket City Council proceedings

February 6, 2017

The regular meeting of the Woonsocket City Council was called to order by Mayor Lindy Peterson at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017, with the following members present: Richard Reider, Brandon Goergen, John Ames, Jim Steichen, Richard Regynski and Joel Rassel.
Also present were Derek Foos, Jeff Hotchkiss, Tom Meyers, Brian Feistner, Michael Feistner and Wyatt Feistner.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Regynski, to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Steichen, to approve the January 2, 2017, minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Reider, seconded by Ames, to approve the January Financial Statement. Motion carried.
Motion by Rassel, seconded by Regynski, to approve the following bills:

7:15 p.m.
Visitors were on hand to discuss the building located on Lots 5-6 Block 30. Motion by Rassel, seconded by Goergen, to proceed in the process to abate the nuisance on February 15, 2017, if no contract is executed by the owners for the abatement of the nuisance on Lots 5-6 Block 30. Motion carried.
Amendment to motion by Rassel, seconded by Goergen, to add, the requirement of said contract requires abatement by March 1, 2017. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Council discussed upcoming Election.
Council discussed the Audit.
NEW BUSINESS
Council discussed the Equalization Meeting, which will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017.
Council discussed the District 2 meeting, which is will be held in DeSmet on March 22, 2017.
Council discussed the Theater Project. The theater project committee would like to thank the City of Woonsocket for their contribution to making this project a success. An open house is planned for February 26th.
