Erna Diane Taylor, 60, passed away Aug. 10, 2012, at St. Paul Minn.
Funeral services were Aug. 15 in Basham Funeral Home, Woonsocket. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery, Woonsocket.
She was born July 4, 1952 to Allyn and Oleta (Hougnon) Taylor at Huron.
She attended elementary school at Huron and then Woonsocket after the family moved to the farm. She graduated from Woonsocket High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Education from South Dakota State University.
She was a teacher and guidance counselor at Viborg, Highmore and Miller.
She was active in the South Dakota Personnel and Guidance Association and the South Dakota School Counselor Association, serving in many offices in both organizations. Erma was named East River Counselor of the year in 1981.
Her hobbies included knitting, crafting and cooking. She was also a gifted seamstress.
She is survived by her sister, Deb (Russ) Vogt of Lakeland, Minn., and brother Dennis (Cindy) Taylor, Anoka, Minn.; nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Clark.
