DeLila Strand, 80, Woonsocket, died Monday, June 3, 2013 in Firesteel Healthcare Center, Mitchell.
Funeral services were Thursday in Bethany Lutheran Church, Woonsocket. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Mitchell.
Arrangements were under the direction of Basham Funeral Home.
DeLila was born July 19, 1932 to Phillip and Sarah (Netland) Kaster of Artesian.
She grew up in Afton Township and graduated from Artesian High School in 1950.
She was an office worker in Los Angeles and then resided in Mitchell, where she was employed by Production Credit Association.
On April 24, 1976, DeLila was united in marriage to Douglas B. Strand, in the First Lutheran Church at Mitchell.
They resided in Woonsocket, where they enjoyed raising horses and other animals.
DeLila was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and served many years as treasurer of the women’s group.
She is survived by three step-children, Georgia Bennett, Woonsocket, Julie Eslinger, Montague, Calif., and Clayton Strand, Bayside, Calif.; step-grandchildren and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Doug.
