The Artesian First Lutheran Church Women’s Group met on Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the church.
President Judy Wormstadt opened the meeting with devotions followed by the group singing the song, “Gather We Gather” with the accompaniment of Bev Morris on the organ. Hostess Deanna Dean led the Bible study, “Koinonia Calling.” The business meeting followed with the treasurer’s report by Deanna Dean, secretary’s report and a missions report by Judy Wormstadt.
Upcoming events include: World Day of Prayer March 1 at 2 p.m. in the Fedora Presbyterian Church; the Love Feast on Thursday, May 30; annual Easter bake sale on Saturday, March 30; and the Spring Gathering at Volga on April 10. Other activities discussed included visiting Countryside Living and doing a skit, fleece blankets for our high school graduates, Bibles for the Mitchell Area Safehouse and a skit for Bold Women’s Day on Feb. 23.
The ladies group will be making a quilt(s) for Lutheran World Relief. If members have material they would like to donate for this quilt project, they may bring the fabric to the church.
Hostess Deanna Dean served lunch. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for March 21.
