Lorraine M. (Allen) Fouberg, age 99, of Mitchell died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, in Avera Brady Health and Rehab. Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 26 at Will Funeral Chapel with burial in Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery.
Lorraine Reed, daughter of James and Anna (Dittman) Reed was born Jan. 5, 1914 in Plankinton. She graduated from Plankinton High School.
Lorraine was united in marriage to Wayne Allen on Dec. 9, 1933 at Rapid City. After their marriage they lived in Mt. Vernon and then moved to Mitchell. Wayne was killed in a plane crash in 1946.
Lorraine was later united in marriage with Elmo B. Fouberg on April 7, 1947 at Mitchell. He died in November of 1983.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church at Mitchell, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, and was involved in state and national bowling tournaments, serving as secretary of many bowling leagues. She was inducted into the Mitchell Bowling Hall of Fame.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Doreen) Allen, Brandon, and Roger Allen, Mitchell; three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeannine Fouberg, Forestburg, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church at Mitchell.
