Notice is hereby given by the Ravenna Township Board to all farmers and landowners:
SDCL 31-32-7 destruction, etc., of township grade or ditch. Violation as a misdemeanor. No unauthorized person may injure any township road by removing, destroying or otherwise altering the grade constructed for such road or by filling, or otherwise altering the ditch which drains the grade of such road or otherwise injures such road in any manner. A violation of this section is a Class 2 Misdemeanor.
This may occur by tilling or planting a crop in the road ditch, which interferes with the drainage and sights distance. This also causes silt and other debris to plug culverts and bridges.
Notice is hereby given that any destruction or injury to a township road ditch or right-of-way may result in legal action by township to enforce the law. This may include mowing of crops by the township or removal of dirt and dirt construction within the township right-of-way causing damage to crops. The cost to the township for repairing and returning the road to its proper state will be recovered in a civil action against the person responsible.
