Alfred “Fred” F. Swearingen, 63, of Sioux Falls died Nov. 20, 2013 at Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Nov. 23 at Heritage Funeral Home with interment in Eventide Cemetery, Woonsocket. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 22 at the funeral home.
Fred was born April 19, 1950 in Mitchell to Alfred and Dottie (Duncan) Swearingen. He attended school in Plankinton.
He married Jo Alyce Jansen in 1968. They later divorced.
He married Marjorie Hinsch in Reno, Nev. in 1984.
Fred worked as a truck driver, owned and operated Elfies Diesel Service and worked at MFTS Trucking.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; children, Beth Davidson, Amy Jo Swearingen and Al Swearingen; stepchildren, Karen Kappenman and Everett Engels II; his parents, Dottie VanOverschelde and stepfather Marv; two brothers, Mick (Judy) Swearingen, Rob (Marti) Swearingen; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
