Ann R. Wacker, 96, of Mitchell, died Friday, March 11, 2016, at Avera Brady Health and Rehab.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, March 15 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation with a 7 p.m. prayer service was Monday, March 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Ann Metzinger, daughter of John and Celina (VandeVoorde) Metzinger, was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Davison County. She grew up and attended school in Letcher. After her schooling, Ann moved to Mitchell and worked at North American Ice Cream Store for six years. She was then employed at Buche’s Store as a salesperson for 38 years.
Ann was united in marriage with Eugene Wacker on July 11, 1963, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell.
Survivors include a niece and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great-nieces and nephews; and great-great great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wacker; her parents; a brother, Sylvester Metzinger; and two sisters, Marie McGee and Loretta Cunningham.
