Gerald “Jerry” Hohn, 65, of Letcher, died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 7, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mitchell with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Gerald Duane Hohn was born Dec. 2, 1950, in Mitchell to Norman and Irene (Sigmund) Hohn. He grew up near Letcher, where he attended Goodwin Country School and graduated from Letcher High School in 1969. He then attended SDSU for one year. Gerald spent his entire life farming near Letcher. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed shooting pool in the D&E League under Jakes Lounge, Pony Hills League, and was an avid player with the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by a sister, Janice Buckley of Rapid City; a brother, Larry (Maribeth) Hohn of Mitchell; one nephew; and a great nephew and great niece.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and his brother-in-law, Gary Buckley.
