Jeffrey “Jeff” Dise, 62, of Woonsocket, died June 20, 2016, at his home. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 25, at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 24, at the Chapel.
Jeff Dise, son of William and Mary Ann (Carlson) Dise, was born Nov. 7, 1953, in Minneapolis, Minn. He grew up in Minneapolis and attended school there. Jeff graduated from South High School in Minneapolis in 1972, and then attended college for one year.
In 1973, he began his career with the BNSF Railroad in Minneapolis.
Jeff was united in marriage with Susan Giles on Nov. 12, 1977, in Elko, Minn. The couple made their home in Minneapolis for five years. In 1983, they moved to Woonsocket, and Jeff continued working for the railroad. The couple moved to a farm near Woonsocket in 1986. Jeff was a track inspector for the railroad and completed 40 years of service with the BNSF Railroad. He retired in November of 2013.
Jeff enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, reading, shooting pool and life on the farm.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Susan Dise, Woonsocket; three children, Josef Nels Dise of Woonsocket, Emily Sue Dise of Letcher, and Fredric (Tanya) Dise of Letcher; eight grandchildren; his mother, Mary Ann (Jim) Bove of Morris, Minn.; a brother, Paul (Dee) Dise of San Diego, Calif.; seven sisters, Sue (Ron) Westrich of St. Cloud, Minn., Rose (Buster) Altman of Maple Grove, Minn., Joan (Ray) Eastlack of Anchorage, Alaska, Marge (Tom) Schneider of Crystal, Minn., Liz (Pete) Luipakka of Wayzata, Minn., Lois (Pat) Wissbaum of Minneapolis, Minn., and Theresa (Doug) Wilhelm of Clear Lake, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, William Dise; and three brothers, John, Eric and Kevin.
