The Sanborn County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. with Chairman Ebersdorfer presiding. Other members present were P. Larson, S. Larson, Blindauer, and Ohlrogge. Auditor Larson was also present. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by Ohlrogge, to accept the minutes as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY
Lee Goergen, Highway Superintendent/Weed Supervisor, Matt Tobin, Butler Machinery, and Robin Lee, Iron Planet, met with the board to discuss purchasing new road graders and selling old ones. Motion by Blindauer, seconded by S. Larson, to enter into a sales agreement with Butler Machinery for two new road graders using the Centerville Township bid. All ayes. Motion carried.
The maintenance workers from the highway department met with the board to discuss wages.
4-H BUILDING
Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Ohlrogge, to charge $50.00 plus $100.00 deposit for renting the horse arena at the 4-H Grounds and $50.00 plus $100.00 deposit for renting the building. Proof of insurance must be provided. All ayes. Motion carried.
RELEASE LIEN
Motion by P. Larson, seconded by Blindauer, to release the lien in the amount of $1,550.00 for indigent #16-1. The person is deceased and does not have an estate. All ayes. Motion carried.
INSURANCE
The board reviewed the coverage for our liability and auto insurance.
SHERIFF’S FEES
Auditor Larson presented the increase in fees that House Bill No. 1005 is allowing the county to charge for certain services. Motion by Ohlrogge, seconded by S. Larson, to approve charging the increase in fees. All ayes. Motion carried.
