The regular meeting of the Woonsocket City Council was called to order by Mayor Lindy Peterson at 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 with the following members present: Richard Reider, Jim Steichen, John Ames, Brandon Goergen, Richard Regynski and Don Schmidt.
Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Goergen, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Steichen, to approve the December 7, 2016 minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Ames, seconded by Regynski, to approve the Financial Statement. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS
Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Regynski, to approve the 2016 salaries.
Richard Jensen – $17.95 per hour
Tara Weber – $15.10 per hour
Andy Larson – $12.00 per hour
Donald Jemming – $765.00 per month
Jeanette Luthi – $50.00 per month
Mayor – $2,400.00 per year
Councilmembers – $1,000.00 per year
Motion by Goergen, seconded by Ames, to amend policy #6.5.5 in the Personnel Policy Extended Health Benefits. Employee can only be reimbursed for amount accumulated ($425.00 per month). Motion carried.
Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Ames, to approve the first reading of Ordinance 93-16 fixing the salary of the Finance Officer. Motion carried.
Motion by Regynski, seconded by Steichen, to approve purchase of a pickup from Garth Swenson in the amount of $3,000.00. Motion carried.
Motion by Reider, seconded by Goergen, to approve purchase of a sander from Todd Snedeker in the amount of $1,000.00. Motion carried.
Council discussed Christmas Decorations.
2016 Election Date was set for Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Community Center with the following positions open: Mayor, Council Member Ward I, Council Member Ward II, Council Member Ward III
With no further business to be discussed, motion by Goergen, seconded by Schmidt, to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
