Christine Marie Laverack, 45, of Martin, died Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Bennett County Hospital.
A vigil will be held Thursday, March 16, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Martin, at 7:30 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 17, at the American Legion with Father Dennis Tyler officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery south of Martin.
Christine Laverack was born June 7, 1971, in Wessington Springs to Lloyd and Jerri Lutter. As a young girl, she lived on the family farm in Gann Valley. She soon became Lloyd’s right hand girl, learning to drive a silage truck and combine. She graduated from Wessington Springs High School and Mount Marty College in Yankton. After graduation, she took a music teaching position in Martin. This is where she met Terry Laverack, and on Nov. 10, 1995, Terry and Christi were united in marriage. It is a special day because both sets of parents were married on Nov. 10.
Terry and Christi made their home in Martin and were blessed with three boys, Drake, Dean and Hunter. Christi worked for the Bennett County School for 22 years, teaching music, first grade, kindergarten and then transitional kindergarten. Christi and her family loved hunting and spent many hours in a blind together.
Survivors include her husband, Terry; three sons, Drake, Dean and Hunter; her parents, Lloyd and Jerri Lutter of Gann Valley; siblings, Bryan (Hillary) Lutter of Woonsocket, Tammy (Jason) Artz of Aberdeen, Russ (Hope) Lutter of Chamberlain, Dawn Lutter (Joey Compuesto) of California, and Trent (Lynette) Lutter of Haven; her grandmother, Donna; Satter of Wessington Springs; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Bennett County Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
