Irene L. Eining, 95, of Huron, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home
Her Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, May 3, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron, with private interment at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with a 6:30 p.m. scripture service was Tuesday, May 2, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron.
Irene was born on Jan. 20, 1922, in Artesian, to Joseph and Ida (Moseson) Olson. She grew up in Artesian where she attended school.
She was united in marriage to Carmen Eining on Oct. 10, 1939, in Pipestone, Minn., and they lived on a farm in the Artesian area for a number of years. They lived in Vancouver, Wash., and Igloo, S.D., before moving to Huron in 1967, where they both worked for Raven Industries until their retirement. The couple enjoyed riding horses, attending horse shows and tending to their acreage in Huron.
Irene enjoyed socializing with friends at McDonalds in Huron and at Countryside Assisted Living in Mitchell, where she participated in exercise class and playing Bingo. She also treasured spending time with her family, especially attending soccer games, taking rides in her 1996 Mercury Sable with her grandson, and receiving phone calls from her granddaughters.
Irene is survived by her two daughters: Carol (Gene) Liudahl of Rapid City, and Char (Randy Brown) Barta of Huron; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her many friends at Countryside Assisted Living in Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carmen Eining on July 29, 1998; two sisters, Alice and Edna Olson; and four brothers, Orlando, Otto, Victor and Lyle Olson.
