Susie Graham, 99, of Mitchell, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Firesteel Heathcare Center in Mitchell.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Eventide Cemetery at Woonsocket. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Susie Graham was born Sept. 13, 1917, at Avon to Albert and Ebertje (Scheenstra) DeVries. In 1919, she moved with her family to the Broadland area and attended country schools there. She attended business school for one year in Sioux Falls. She was employed by Central Electric for three years and then Sanborn Telephone Cooperative for 28 years.
In 1937, she married Walter Graham in Mitchell. After living in Woonsocket for numerous years, she moved to Mitchell in 2005. Susie enjoyed dancing, crocheting, knitting and playing pool. She enjoyed meeting people and volunteering.
She is survived by one son, Rodney (Virginia) Graham of Fargo, N.D.; one daughter, Nathlee Moran of Huron; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; a special friend, David Thorton; two brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Mathew Moran.
