Hans Eric Christensen, 57, of rural Woonsocket, passed away Sunday morning Sept. 16, 2012 in the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell.
Funeral services will be  Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Wilfrid Catholic Church, Woonsocket. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the church.
Hans Christensen was born Oct. 9, 1954 in Wessington Springs to Paul and Leila Christensen. He grew up on a farm near Wessington Springs with his three older brothers, Nels, Paul and Kim.
On Jan. 26, 1974 Hans wed Margaret Vetter of Woonsocket. To this union 10 children were born: Angie (Shane) Mentzer, Wessington Springs,  John (Rhonda) Christensen, Beresford,  Carie (Levi) Fry, Woonsocket,  Eric (Crystal) Christensen, Woonsocket,  Katie Greene, Sioux Falls,  Beth Christensen, Forestburg, Matthew Christensen, Tea,  Emily Christensen, Mitchell and Darin Christensen, Eau Claire, Wis.
He enjoyed his life having fun with family and friends.  He had a great passion for camping, fishing and fixing small motors. He will be remembered for his quick witty humor, little stories to tell and willingness to help anyone at anytime.
He was is survived by his wife, Margaret; all 10 children and spouses; 17 grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Mary Jo Vetter; and step-mother, Carol Christensen.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Marie Christensen; his parents, Paul and Leila Christensen; and father-n-law, Leo Vetter.
