Edwin J. Graves, 80, Ethan, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 in his home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 3 in the Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell. Burial was in the Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery at Mitchell.
Edwin Graves was born on April 23, 1933 at Fulton to Lyle and Anna (Harris) Graves.
On Jan. 10, 1953 he married Dorothy Hanten at Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; their nine children, James (Vedene) Graves Mitchell, Russell (Connie) Graves, Ethan, David (Amy) Graves, Mt. Vernon, Cindy (Terry) Naber, St. Lawrence, Jeri (Glenn) Thorson, Brookings, Becky (Dennis) Graves, Forestburg, Sally (Kevin) Bucholz, Loomis, Gaylynn (Doug) Weber, Mitchell, and Kaylee (Chad) Richard, Spearfish; 38 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and two  great-great-grandchildern;  two sisters, Eva Lebeda,  Newburg, Ore., Rose Stumb, Sioux Falls, and one brother, Darold Graves, Newburg, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
