Lucille Faye Koch, 97, West Bend, Wis. died Saturday, July 27, 2013.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend, Ind. Burial was in Washington County Memorial Parks, West Bend.
Lucille was born May 8, 1916 in rural South Dakota to the late Gilbert and Hattie (Helgeland) Johnson. She grew up near Mitchell and graduated from Letcher High School in the class of 1936.
She finished her advanced studies and became a teacher, working in several rural one-room schools in Davison and Sanborn counties. She also worked at Mitchell in the Scallon Drug Store.
On April 9, 1950, Lucille was united in marriage to Paul W. Koch at Mitchell and moved to Wisconsin, settling in West Bend, where they raised two children.
Lucille and Paul had a God-filled life together.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Koch) Canby, West Bend; a daughter-in-law, Mary (Johnson) Koch, West Bend; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Eileen (Snow) Johnson, Pierre; nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul, in 1981; son, Luke, in 2010; grandson, Jeremy William Canby, in 1979; two sisters, Genevieve  Taplin, and baby sister, Elizabeth; three brothers, Laverne  Johnson, Darrel Johnson, and Doyle Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Esther Koch, Pearl Koch and Ella Roell; two brothers-in-law,Edward Koch, and baby Chester Koch.
Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, West Bend; or Faith/Santa Fe Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, would be appreciated by the family.
