The May 8 meeting was called to order by Vice President Ellie Evans. Pledges were led by Dean Hansen and Toby Kneen. Roll call was taken by Michael Hoffman with the topic being, “What could you do for your mother for Mother’s Day?” There were 16 members present.
The secretary’s report was given by Noah Wormstadt and the treasurer’s report was given by Brady Larson. They were approved by the members. Grandparent correspondence was read from Irene Amick.
Other committee reports were as follows:
Stach reception – Sherri will get more information to the committee as the May 30 date gets closer. Members to assist are Ashlee Hansen, Michael Hoffman, Meghan Chada, Cole Moody and Alexis Kelly.
Letcher Fun Day lunch committee – the club is planning for 200 lunches with a free will donation towards the new addition to the fire hall. Bingo committee – each committee member will bring five prizes. The group will play 20 games of bingo from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on June 13 after the lunch.
Nursing home committee – Bailey Moody reported that Firesteel and Prairie View are interesting in having members visit their facilities. It was decided to take fresh flowers to distribute and visit the residents. May 26 is the suggested date to visit both places.
New business consisted of upcoming dates: May 19 – sheep, goat and hog weigh-in at 5 p.m.; May 19 – Horse safety at 6 p.m.; May 20 –Phon-a-thon in Woonsocket at 5:30 p.m.; May 27 – Fleece activity 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; May 29 – Livestock Judging school; June 1 – affidavits due to the office for animal ownership.
Toby Kneen gave an illustrated talk on “How to Make a First Aid Kit.”
Lunch was served by Ashlee and Dean Hansen, Ellie Evans and Michael Hoffman.
Before the meeting members and parents collected garbage, cleaned the community center and planted a tree by Rossy Park.
Lunch will be served at the next meeting by Payton Uecker, Riley, Brooke and Stacy Zoss.
